The leading domestic hunger-relief organization in Southeast NC
About Our Food Bank
In 1984, Action Pathways launched its food bank, eventually becoming Second Harvest Food Bank of Southeast North Carolina. A proud member of Feeding America, we serve seven counties and advocate on behalf of those in need.
Feeding America is the nation’s leading domestic hunger-relief organization, comprised of 200 food banks throughout the United States. Second Harvest Food Bank of Southeast North Carolina is proud to serve seven counties as a member of the Feeding America network. This contracted relationship assures both financial and operational excellence. It also provides accountability through network training, site monitoring and the maintenance of substantial records verifying conformity to established Federal and State safe food handling standards.

Second Harvest Food Bank of Southeast North Carolina is administered by Action Pathways, Inc. A community action agency, Action Pathways serves the community via several programs that work with and for the individual and his/her family. We understand that not everyone’s pathway out of poverty is the same, so staff in each program work to create initiatives to provide the best tools and encouragement. Other programs administered by Action Pathways include: ASPIRE Self-Sufficiency, Fayetteville-Cumberland Reentry Council, Head Start, and Weatherization Assistance Program.
