Education Garden in Bloom

The Community Education Garden emphasizes the importance of learning about health and nutrition to combat food insecurity. We began the garden with just a few beds in 2013, but with generous support from local schools and the Master Gardener Volunteer Program, we’ve been able to grow in size and seasonal offerings. Arming people with information to plant, care for and later prepare fresh herbs and produce, our team of volunteers stresses the benefits of healthy, chemical-free foods. With simple lessons and tips, you can grow a green thumb and your own food.

We see our garden as a great example of our mission to EMPOWER, as individual workshops provide key health information and new skills, and guide participants on a path to overall wellness.

Workshop dates are held on the second Saturday of each month, but you can come out to tend the garden whenever you’d like! For more information, contact our office.

We need volunteers like YOU to keep the garden looking beautiful. All are welcome- green thumbs and seasoned harvesters alike!
