Retail Donation Program

The Food Bank works with grocery stores and other food retailers to rescue food that would have otherwise been discarded. These food items are safe to eat but may have been discontinued, product samples, or beyond their advertised “sale by” date. Food Bank staff or partner agencies who are contracted through the food bank pick up donations from area retailers who have agreed to donate foods. The partnership between the food bank and these retailers ensures that countless pounds of good food do not become wasted.

Food Reclamation Program

The Food Reclamation Program ensures that no good food goes to waste. Through the hard work of volunteers, we are able to sort through the food that enters the warehouse through donations. Volunteers are trained to sort donations according to strict quality control standards, ensuring that as much food as possible reaches the tables of the many in need.

Farmers and Growers

Partnerships with local, North Carolina Farmers and growers all the Food Bank to provide our partner agencies with fresh produce and proteins including fruits, vegetables, lean meats, and eggs.
